Founded in 2006, LHI Development Group is a Colorado Class A and Class C licensed general contractor, development firm, and engineering-led construction company specializing in architecturally significant custom homes, luxury renovations, commercial properties, and complex development projects throughout Colorado.

Manish Kumar, P.E.

Managing Director

Manish Kumar is the Founder and Managing Director of LHI Development Group, an engineering-led development and construction firm specializing in architecturally significant residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects throughout Colorado.

A licensed Professional Engineer, Class A General Contractor, developer, and former executive public official, Manish brings an uncommon breadth of experience spanning engineering, development, construction, government, finance, and executive leadership. Over the past two decades, he has directed complex projects ranging from luxury custom homes to multi-billion-dollar infrastructure and development programs, consistently delivering results in highly technical, highly regulated, and high-stakes environments. His career includes stewardship of more than $10 billion in capital programs, management of $6.5 billion in annual federal infrastructure programming across more than 15 countries, leadership of a 307-person public agency with a $42 million operating budget, and the development of a private real estate portfolio exceeding $100 million.

Before leading LHI full time, Manish served as Executive Director of Denver's Community Planning and Development Department, where he led a department-wide transformation, established the Denver Permitting Office, reduced permitting timelines by more than 30 percent, and helped unlock hundreds of stalled development projects throughout the city. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), directing transportation, housing, healthcare, education, and infrastructure initiatives across multiple continents while advising executive leadership on governance, procurement, risk management, and organizational transformation.

His experience extends well beyond construction. Having served as an engineer, developer, owner, regulator, and executive decision-maker, Manish understands every phase of the development process—from land acquisition, entitlement, and financing to engineering, permitting, construction, and long-term asset management. This integrated perspective enables him to identify risks early, solve complex challenges efficiently, and guide clients through sophisticated projects with clarity and confidence.

Manish holds a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University, an Executive MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder. He is a Colorado licensed Professional Engineer, Class A and Class C General Contractor, Project Management Professional (PMP), LEED Accredited Professional, and Design-Build Professional (DBIA). Throughout his career, he has received numerous national and international honors, including a Congressional Citation and multiple U.S. Department of State Superior Honor Awards recognizing exceptional leadership and public service.
